New! Professional Portrait Sessions in the Azores – With Flash Photography
At Photography in Azores, my passion has always been to capture the natural light and the genuine beauty of these incredible islands.
During my Photo Tours, I work exclusively with natural light — not only to respect the true atmosphere of the Azores, but also because I believe there's something magical about how the islands’ light plays with the landscape.
As I normally show to my clients, all these trees and lakes and the humidity in the atmosphere, create a Green tone to the photos, which is so unique and different of what you normally see on the internet, like photos in the Mediterranean, Iceland, East Asia. So photos here, in the Azores Islands - São (San) Miguel, are really unique. No wonder, these are becoming a world trend vacation destination.
But I have my own flaws. I mean, who doesn’t, rigth? Ahahah. As someone who can't stand still for long, I recently started exploring new techniques:
Using flash photography with softbox, tripod, and trigger setups.

So why did I choose to explore a different field of Photogrpahy?
First of all, because I absolutely love photographing people — their faces, their expressions, their personalities.
Secondly, because flash photography allows for a completely different style: a more dramatic, artistic, and polished look that natural light alone sometimes can't provide.
Of course, this kind of setup (flash + C-stand + softbox + triggers) is too complex to move around during a Photo Tour — especially since I work alone, without assistants.
For that reason, Photo Tours remain 100% natural light, mobile, and dynamic — just the way they should be.
However, for those who want a professional photoshoot with controlled lighting, I am now offering private portrait sessions of about 1 to 1.5 hours, in fixed locations.
Some great options include:
The garden or pool area of your hotel or Airbnb
A beautiful nearby park or quiet outdoor space
A scenic spot near your accommodation
